Frequently Asked Questions
What are some use cases?
Find out how players are fitting their ships, Find out where to find potential targets, Look at commonly flown enemy fleet compositions, etc.
Can I request a feature or chart set?
Yes, send an in-game mail to Davy Ingram. I'll add it to the to-do list if I like the concept. Don't expect me to mail you back.
What is with the Message Ticker at the bottom?
I am trying to make money here. Send a player to player donation to the character Eve-Intel in game.
The transaction description is used as the message text. If you dont have a description then there is no message to display.
Minimum is 10m ISK to get it in the rotation; I am trying to cut out any message spam. I may up the buy-in value in the future.
Currently the website is setup to just pull five random messages for the ticker on page load. There is currently no priority based on donation value.
ESI based, so this is not a realtime link. It might take some time for your message to be in the rotation. No refunds. What is with the Sidebar Sponsor?
Similar concept to the Message Ticker. Essentially a billboard your alliance or corp can rent for advertizing, but the code to automate this process is not implemented yet.
For the time being send me an in game mail, Davy Ingram, if you are interested. Why do some areas have images and others don't?
Some things have ingame images I can pull via ESI; some do not. I am manually collecting interesting pictures for different areas.
Mobile Phone Support?
Barely / No.
Is the data realtime?
No, killmail data and related information is loaded on a nightly basis. This is not designed to be a killmail reading tool.
What is the Range of the Data?
As stated on the homepage, going to far back can be detrimental. The site currently has data starting from 2025-01-01 to present. I may import more historical data in the future, and there are no current plans for deleting currently held data.
Activity by Hour?
All killmails and the website work on Eve time.
Why is xyz not in the data?
If you don't see an element in the data, then it is not in the data. If a character has never killed anyone or been killed; don't expect to be able to search for them.
Why are there so many ships on the Attackers chart?
The data set counts individual instances.
You can have 30 rifters be on 1 venture kill. That would count as 1 venture death, and 30 rifter kills. It would be wrong to count the example as a single rifter kill.Module charts also have odd counts?
Again, we are just counting raw instances. If a drake dies with 2 shield extenders fit then that would count as 2 instances; not 1 instance.
How are the Most Common and Other categories split out?
This is determined by a dynamic calculation.
The top categories are added to the Most Common dataset until a threshold of 95% of the total is met. This means that Most Common could occupy more than 95% of the dataset depending on the count splits out in the top categories.
A: 90%, B: 9%, Everything else: 1%. Most Common would occupy 99% of the data. There are blank sections?
There are two potential causes:
1: Long load times. Each chart on a page is loaded individualy, so that specific chart may still be processing.
2: There might not be any data to display. Either by your own filter criteria, or by a data conflict. You can commonly see this on the drones chart when it is ran against ships that don't have a drone bay.
